We found a break from the crazy for a little family time

The kids found the old advent calendar today. They worked so well together finding toys small enough to fit in all 24 drawers. It’s so sweet to watch how patient Q is with her.

We bought two cars at Disneyland yesterday. They both wanted the blue one. I let them talk it out/fight about it for a few minutes then asked them which one they were each going to get. Q told said “I will give Isla the blue one because I want to make her happy.”

He’s as sweet as they come.

Q got to ride through the car wash in the front seat. He was very adamant that he needed to get back in his car seat before PK left the car wash tunnel.

La Costa Tree Lighting

We got to see Santa parachuting into La Costa to light the tree this year. Q and Isla begged not to talk to him so we didn’t get pics with the big man. It was also super busy so we didn’t get a lot of pics in general. But we did get a great shot of our big little guy and the cookie he made.

Sunday dinner with Grandy

We had a great time with Grandpa and Grandy. It’s so fun to watch them build their own traditions like playing games, having ice cream cones and playing with shaving cream in the bath. Isla loved playing with Grandy’s doll collection and they always jump on Grandpa’s bed after the bath.

This Sunday was extra special because Q and Isla got to put the gum drops On Grandy’s tree. I remember sneaking gum drops from the teee when I was their age. So special!

We drove around a little last night looking for Christmas lights. To no one particular, Q says:

“I am a Christmas Man.” 

Then a minute later he says:

“We don’t celebrate Hanukah.”

What?!?!

We are so lucky to have amazing neighbors with great decorations. Q and Isla dance with the reindeer every night. I hope they never get bored of this.

Mia

We met Mia at the Forum in Black Friday. She was so sweet to take Isla and Q up and down the escalator. We alsways have so much fun with Mia.

Bounce house kinda weekend

We were so lucky to have so many visitors from our of town this week/weekend. We busted out the bounce house for all to enjoy on Wednesday and it stayed out until Sunday afternoon. We finally put it away- amongst lots of tears and begging to make it a permanent fixture in the foyer.

Q’s teachers said that playing with Legos could really help with his dexterity and writing. PK was very excited about this assignment. There is no doubt that HIS dexterity improved a bit over the long weekend.

We don’t use our dinning room table very often but it sure did get a lot of attention during our building sessions.
