Q Happs

I feel like there is so much going on with Q right now that I just need to dedicate a whole big blog to him; so here goes.

He has a new favorite song, he calls it "his song" and he walks around all day singing his version of it...

"I reeeeally cannot stay. Baby it's cold outside"

I love that out of all the Christmas songs, this is his favorite. No silly songs about reindeer and dancing snowman for my little lover."

That being said, he loves Frosty the Snowman. This is right up there with Dumbo which is still his favorite movie.

Here are some pics of him making a snowman with fake snow that Grandma brought him.

Most of the time I can figure out what Q means when he says things that aren't exactly correct. But lately he's been saying "this is you Baby. I am me Baby." And I just can't seem to figure out what beg thought he is trying to convey to her. For some reason, I think this is adorable.

Q looooves sweets. Here he is eating cake pops that he made with Grandma.

He likes hot chocolate but not whipped cream. Every time the topic comes up he is sure to remind us that he doesn't want "whip cream" in his hot chocolate.

He's very picky about what he wears. He recently picked out a pair of yellow, green and blue high tops. They are now his favorite. He quickly dubbed them his "excersise shoes" and runs as fast as he can when he wears them. PK3 bought a pair to match.

Here he is all dressed up in his blue crushed velvet coat for Thanksgiving.

He still randomly comes over for big hugs and kisses all day. He also loves to "knock you down!" And will every chance he gets. Here he is giving Grandma lots of love.

"What's happening?!"

This is what W says whenever he is scared. If he hears a noise, sees a bug or sees something in the TV that he doesn't like. I love that he is seeking to understand what scares him. Though usually this is followed by "hold me" and a big hug rather than listen to the explanation of what it is... It's a start though.

There's so much more but I gotta get back to work so it will have to wait until next time.

Gross

We now have to be very thoughtful about what PJ's we put on Q if it's a movie night. He will take footed Jammies off to get to his toes so he can eat popcorn like this...

There's not enough coffee in the world

What's the best part about having a two year old who gets up at 5:00am you ask?

Not thinking its THAT big of a deal when your 6 month old is up for the day at 4:30am.

One In/One Out

Despite my best efforts, PK has made a new friend. Now I know you're thinking that's awful but have you met my husband?!?! He is friends with EVERYONE and has F.O.M.O. (Fear of missing out) so we are constantly overbooked with birthdays, play dates and dinner parties. Don't get me wrong, I love him for it... Especially since I can be a bit on the shy side and love all of our friends, I just find it hard to keep up and do a good job at it ALL. So I suggested a one in/one out rule (we are very familiar with this at The Manor as it also applies to T-shirts and coozies). He can have more friends but we have to give one up for everyone new stray he brings home. Of course I would never enforce such a thing and it's a good thing too because I would never be able to give up a friend (t-shirts are another story).

Anyway, back to the point... PK has a new friend. But it's all good! The best part... They live in the neighborhood and have two little kids who are adorable!! The whole family is quite awesome, even though the dads hang out way more than rest of us. Like tonight... They are playing darts (who does that?) and while I miss spending a couple kid-free, half-awake hours with PK3 it's a great excuse to have popcorn and movie night with Q and a fire (and a glass on wine) in bed.

Have fun Piko!! We are!!

Sunday

I took Q with me to run some errands while PK 3 and Isla watched some football. We were only gone a couple of hours but couldn't help sending each other selfies of our special 1X1 time.

It can wait

I have so much laundry to. I mean like PILES! But I just can't seem to get up from this...

So here I sit while the last hours of the weekend quickly rush by, thinking of all the things I didn't get to that will stress me out all week. The one thing I know for sure is that these precious moments are so limited and my baby needs Mommy cuddles more than the laundry needs to be folded.

Grub time at the Manor

#thesefoolsputmycapeonbackwards

Where's Isla?

There's Isla

Boona

Q's "baby words" are becoming more and more rare as he learns the real words for things. Thankfully he still refers to balloons as "boonas" and giggles and screams uncontrollably whenever we blow one up for him. Isla's learning about the wonder of boonas too!

Quote of the Q

The scene: me putting little man to bed after a very long day of work

Q: "I need mommy in my bed. It's important to me."

When did he get so smart/manipulative?

Sitting with Help

Isla sits in the high chair and swing now. Slow down time!!

Pancake Mess

I like to think he spilled the bowl right when the milk was poured in to even out the recipe after he spilled half of the flour while pouring it in. Needless to say, the pancakes weren't stellar. Q's solution you ask... Lots of chocolate chips!

It's not about taste when cooking with a two year old, that's for sure!
